Flashcards are one of the best way to learn. Either you’re learning Chinese or Maths formulas, they’re such a great tool to play with memory and association. There are thousands of activities we can play, some are very simple but very engaging and others can be more articulated for elder learners.
- HOW CAN I MAKE MY OWN FLASHCARDS?
Well, homemade material is always engaging for the children, for a simple reason..
YOU make it!!
You spend time selecting the right picture out of many newspapers or Google images, you cut it out and paste it on cardboard. You can also decide to print them black and white and then color them with your child, or even better, having your child designing them! Later on, you can think about laminating them, (they will last more!) either in the photocopy shop (though it’s a little expensive!) or you can buy a peel & stick adhesive roll like this one in Amazon.
We usually use this peel and stick roll, in need of laminating hundreds of FC. We use the clear one, with different textures and decorations. Children love to touch, and they just appreciate so much the texture that this kind of lamination provide.
And again, it’s H O M E M A D E !
Making the material together with your child or your students will make that moment special and it will create a positive attitude in the child towards learning and learning to learn.
